We read our Bible story, Shepherds Worship Jesus. We said the song, I’m His Little Lamb, as a poem. Toddler joined me in wiggling her fingers to Five Little Bells. I continued to ask her the verse, 1 John 4:8.
Toddler Girl painted the shepherd coloring page with watercolors. It was her first time using watercolors.
The book of the week was Ten Little Fish. We read it and then I pulled the fishbowl template out from last time. I had glued the fish onto the bowl. I wrote the numbers 1-10 on the fish and we’ve been counting them this week.
The colors were purple and brown. The shape was a triangle. We glued a couple triangles (one was already decorated purple and had purple stickers on it) to a brown piece of paper. Then Toddler Girl colored the poster.
We played a game with sponges, buckets and water. We dipped our sponges in a bucket of water, ran across the yard to an empty bucket, and then squeezed the water out of our sponges into the bucket. It was a lot of fun! After that, we dipped small containers and carried the water back to the first bucket. Then we poured the water on our flowers. This activity worked both fine and gross motor skills.
The Bible story for the week was Wise Men Worship Jesus. We worked on our verse, 1 Thessalonians 2:13 “Give Thanks To God.”
The book of the week was The Foot Book by Dr. Seuss. We didn’t do any of the activities.
Toddler Girl colored the wise men coloring page with crayons. She also colored the Christmas Tree and then decorated it with stickers.
We experimented with crayon rubbings. Toddler Girl didn’t get the point of it. She just colored the paper going around the stuff underneath.
The shape of the week was a star. I took the brown stars that were stapled together last week. Toddler Girl put star stickers of different colors on both sides. Then I punched a hole in the top and tied a ribbon loop on it so we could hang it up. It will probably end up on the Christmas tree in December.
I’ve been teaching Toddler Girl not to throw in the house. I thought tossing a stuffed animal would send her mixed messages so I decided to skip the gross motor skill.
We finished up the week with the Nn poster. I cut numbers out of a magazine and Toddler Girl glued them onto the poster.
