ABCJLM: Year 2, Weeks 7 & 8

Week 7

We read about the first six days of creation in our Bible story book. We practiced the creation finger play to help her remember what God created each day. Our verse was 1 Thessalonians 2:13 Give thanks to God.

We completed the next part of the creation book. Toddler Girl put farm animal stickers on a piece of paper.

Our song for the week was Jesus Loves Me. Our poem was Little Bo Peep.

The colors of the week were green and yellow. The shape was a circle. We did paint stamping with green and yellow paint and a foam circle.

We read books about farm animals and played a few online games that were linked to from the ABCJLM site.

For the fine motor skill Toddler Girl finger painted on a vertical surface (her easel).

For the gross motor skill we played with a ball rolling it back and forth.

Week 8

We continued with our reading about the days of creation. Our verse was Genesis 1:1.

We did the next part of our creation book. We talked about pets and put stickers of common pets onto a sheet of paper.

The song was Jesus Loves the Little Children. Our poem was the same.

The colors of the week were red, blue and yellow and the shape was a square. We made play dough snakes out of the three colors and outlined a square.

The book of the week was Moo, Baa, La, La, La. Toddler Girl enjoyed reading this one together. She finished each sentence by saying the sound that the animals make.

For the fine motor skill we ripped up paper and practiced cutting with scissors.

We played red light green light while on a walk around the block.

We also did a lot of coloring this week using the pages that we received at library story time.
