The Bible Lesson this week was Jesus Has Risen. We read this story several times. Our verse for the week was 1 Thessalonians 2:13 Give thanks to God. The Poem was Hot Cross Buns. Toddler Girl has been parroting everything we say. Her vocabulary is expanding everyday. This was the first week which she was able to repeat the verse one word at a time after me. We did the same with the poem. I’m so excited that I can start helping her to memorize verses now.
We didn’t get any library books this week but we did a lot of reading from our books at home. We also went to craft time at our library for the first time. I’m planning on taking her to the monthly craft days at the library until summer. Hopefully we will be able to continue this fall as well.
The colors for the week were white, yellow and purple. The shapes were heart and rectangle. Toddler Girl colored the heart rectangle poster with crayons and colored pencils. She did a great job staying inside the shapes (mostly). She also played with white, yellow and purple play dough. I think she has her colors down pat now.
I had Toddler Girl practice cutting with scissors. It is hard work for her little hands to use her scissors. I plan on doing a little scissor cutting at least once a week to help strengthen her hands.
Toddler Girl colored an owl coloring page on Thursday. I was really proud of her. She was talking about the colors she was using and what she was coloring. It made me realize that she is thinking about what she is doing. Her work is deliberate even though it looks carefree to me.
We’ve gone on lots of walks this week. Toddler Girl insists on walking most of the way. I’m pleased that her little legs are getting lots of exercise but it takes a really long time. We walk about 1.7 miles but it takes over an hour with her walking about halfway and riding the rest in her stroller.
